neilb Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 Some advice plse: My Ally is due for a 100k serrvice soon. Im not taking it a my main dealer but to a local garage, yet to be chosen. What sort of price should I be looking for? What things over and above the usual (oil/filter etc) should I ask to be done? Also, my service book shows that at no time since new (2001) has she had the brake fluid changed. Should I get this done? Finally, :) , The cambelt was changed at 76k. When should I look at changing it again? Thanks in anticipation. Quote
NikpV Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 brake fluid - every two years if it were a 2001 gal - would be looking at cambelt every 40k if you look at the useful links thread there is a link to what needs to be done at each different service, BTW how refreshing to se a post about CARS for a change don't you have any work to do BJ? Bigjeeze Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 BTW how refreshing to se a post about CARS for a change don't you have any work to do BJ? It would seem about as much as you do Nik!! and I am not responsible for the education of our future members!! Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 100k - nothing out of the ordinary. If the brake fluid and coolant haven't been changed in the past 3 years, get them changed now. Cambelt will be every 40k or 60k depending on what belt was last fitted.... Quote
